maestro is one of my favorite old pedal brands. from their wide-range rolodex of sound, the maestro filter sample/hold fsh-1 especially stands out to me. the circuit was designed by tom oberheim (of oberheim electronics, another top tier brand in their own right), and made to be a two-in-one effect with each half having one control.

unfortunately, a small number of these units were made due to low demand. the market wasn’t yet ready. original units are increasingly more rare to find, and easily fetch four-digit prices. i knew i had to do something about this.

yesterday effects is very proud to offer a faithful recreation of tom oberheim’s masterpiece, the maestro fsh-1. our version perfectly mimics the original circuit, with two modern improvements. the original required two batteries and didn’t have a dc jack - so we made sure ours is compatible with standard 9v dc negative center power supplies. next, to keep the price as low as possible, we updated the circuit’s obsolete semiconductors to modern equivalents. the performance of these substitutions makes our circuit identical to the original.
